How much "elemental" magnesium is in a serving of Jigsaw Magnesium w/SRT?
One serving of Jigsaw Magnesium w/SRT (4 tablets) contains 500mg of elemental magnesium. Each tablet contains 125mg of elemental magnesium.
The FDA requires the Supplement Facts box list the elemental mineral content for all minerals in any supplement. Regardless of if the label states “Magnesium” or “Elemental Magnesium”, you can be assured that you’re comparing apples to apples.
Jigsaw Magnesium w/SRT exclusively uses dimagnesium malate from Albion Advanced Nutrition, the world leader in chelated minerals.
Since dimagnesium malate is 19% elemental magnesium, we use a whopping 658mg per tablet to get 125mg of elemental magnesium per tablet.
Other forms of magnesium, like magnesium-oxide -- which is the cheap form common in most supplements -- have a much higher percentage of elemental magnesium by weight, but are much more harsh on the gastrointestinal tract and are very likely to cause the dreaded diarrhea effect when you approach anywhere near 100% of the recommended daily intake (RDI).
