Pros: Butyrex noticeably slowed the progress of the Alzheimers. Cons: None
"In 2006 my husband was diagnosed with Alz. We tried several other health products that had no noticeable effect. We started the Butyrex and after 2 months he got tired of taking pills so he stopped and in one week he had noticable memory loss so he started 4 Butyrex a day again and his memory improved some. In the last 4 months he has continued to lose some memory but at a slow rate and his attitude is pretty mellow and not as agitated as some of his afflicted friends.

Pros: Noticeably purges ammonia Cons: Yet another expense
"Bloodwork showed that my plasma ammonia level was higher than the normal range, as is common for people with autism spectrum disorders including Asperger's Syndrome. I read on health.groups.yahoo.com/group/EnzymesandAutism that calcium butyrate (Butyrex) helps purge ammonia. Sure enough, after 2-3 weeks the effect became very noticeable but I haven't confirmed it with bloodwork yet. Hyperammonemia will make you foggy-headed and worse.
