I'm pleased to announce two important improvements to Jigsaw Health Probiotics - Essential Blend.
BACKGROUND - IMPROVEMENT #1
Veggie capsules are typically a fantastic delivery mechanism for many different nutrients.
However, one of the risks with using veggie caps is that sometimes, they will break down while inside of the stomach.
And generally stomach acid is not good for probiotics (aka. "good bugs").
The goal of any probiotic supplement is to get these good bugs to colonize (primarily) inside of your small intestine.
Enter Capsugel's new DR ("Designed Release") Capsules.
The best news of all is that these are still vegan friendly, being made from HPMC (Hypromellose - Hydroxypropyl
Methylcellulose), Gelling agent (Gellan gum), and Water.
That being said, the Probiotics are "bugs", and thus non-vegan. (I presume that vegans get probiotics from fermented foods, such kefir, soy, etc.)

For years, we've been using glass containers because well, quite frankly.. that's what everyone else uses for their Probiotics.
But glass bottles don't survive every interaction they encounter with the USPS / Fedex / UPS man...
And nearly 1 in 50 orders would result in a customer complaint of a broken bottle, even though we painstakingly hand-wrapped every glass bottle in bubble wrap for extra protection, like this:
Needless to say, re-shipping 2% of our Probiotics orders was expensive for us, and inconvenient for our customers.
Now, it's worth noting that the primary reason for using glass is to keep out moisture.
Moisture, heat, and stomach acid are "lions, tigers, and bears" for Probiotics.
But when we looked at the moisture resistance on glass vs. HDPE plastic bottles, the difference was negligible.
So we switched...and we'll never get a "broken bottle" phone call again. Woo-hoo!!
Everything Else Remains The Same
We're using the same 5 strains of Probiotics that we've been using for years and years.
The price is the same.
The count is the same.
The bottles just won't break any more.
