Is an excellent, low-carb source of dietary fiber
- Contains 58% dietary fiber (wheat bran is 27% fiber)—more than any other flour including soy flour.
- High fiber content helps you feel fuller longer—and may, therefore, help with weight management.
- Has a low glycemic index—it helps slow the release of glucose (blood sugar) which requires less insulin to produce energy. Read “The Truth About Carbohydrates.”
- Has fewer digestible net carbs than any other flour and most vegetables.
Contains healthy sources of saturated fat and other nutrients
- Contains 14% pure, refined virgin coconut oil—a healthy source of the saturated fat required by the body.
- Has as much protein as wheat flour without the gluten—ideal for those with sensitivities to wheat and gluten.
- Naturally sweetened—no sugar added.
Comes from fresh, organically grown Philippine coconuts
- Extracted from fresh, certified organic coconut meat.
- Uses a wet-dry process—the coconut milk is extracted from the wet, grated coconut meat—for higher fiber content.
- Defatted and dried using a very low heat to keep nutrients and enzymes intact.
- Finely ground for a consistency similar to that of wheat flour.
Can be easily added to your diet
- A new low-carb, high-fiber, gluten-free alternative to wheat and other grain flours for baking and cooking.
- Can be used to make breads, cakes, pies, desserts, cookies, pancakes, waffles, and other baked goods.
- Gives baked goods a natural sweetness with a rich texture.
- Substitute coconut flour for 15-25% of other flours in most recipes, adding an equivalent amount of liquid to the recipe.
- Use 100% in place of other flours simply by adding eggs (average one egg per ounce of coconut flour).

The typical American diet lacks the fiber needed to help produce and store adequate amounts of energy needed by the body for healthy functioning. Foods with little or no dietary fiber can cause blood sugar (glucose) to spike, creating an unhealthy demand for insulin. Over time, the balance between glucose and insulin breaks down.
This imbalance has been linked to many chronic conditions including digestive disorders, obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and more.
However, foods rich in dietary fiber—like coconut flour—are healthier, low glycemic index foods that gradually release glucose, requiring less demand on the pancreas to produce insulin. Read “The Truth About Carbohydrates” for more information.
Coconut flour contains 58% dietary fiber—more than wheat flour (27%) and four times more than soy flour. In a recent study conducted in collaboration with the Philippine Coconut Authority, researchers found that increasing levels of coconut flour in bakery products resulted in a lower glycemic index among both diabetic and normal subjects.
This and other research has great significance for us all. Using coconut flour as a healthy source of dietary fiber may help to better regulate insulin levels and manage weight.
Coconut flour also contains no gluten, making it a particularly good choice for those with allergies to wheat and gluten.
Coconut Flour uses a wet-dry process that gives it a higher—and healthier—fiber content than that provided by dessication. It may also help the body better absorb nutrients while effectively eliminating harmful toxins.
Also check out Virgin Coconut Oil and Coconut Flakes for additional sources of healthy dietary fats and fiber.
