HyperLink Some but not all studies suggest that glucosamine supplements can relieve pain and improve mobility in osteoarthritis, a disease in which cartiliage in joints becomes stiffer and may wear away. Besides possibly relieving symptoms, there is some evidence that glucosamine might actually slow the progression of the disease.  Read more...

Current medical treatments for osteoarthritis, such as NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), treat the symptoms but don't actually slow the disease's progression, and they may actually make it get worse faster. Chondroitin (along with glucosamine) may take the treatment of osteoarthritis to a new level.  Read more...

Ease joint pain and inflammation for greater mobility!

Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate Plus may help:*

  • Promote joint and cartilage health.
  • Ease pain and inflammation.
  • Support restful sleep.
  • Improve overall mobility.
  • Promote healthy aging.

Unlike other glucosamine/chondroitin supplements, Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate Plus:

Contains GlucosaPure®, a pure and highly absorbed glucosamine sulfate
  • GlucosaPure® uses a patented process to ensure that 95% of the product is fully reacted—other glucosamine sulfate products contain less than 5% of glucosamine sulfate.
  • Patent awarded to the manufacturer after demonstrating that no other commercially available glucosamine sulfate was as pure as GlucosaPure.
  • The most absorbable form of glucosamine available, it passes through stomach acid into the intestines where it’s absorbed into the bloodstream.
  • May slow the progression of mild to moderately severe forms of osteoarthritis.1,2
Uses chondroitin sulfate to slow cartilage wear and breakdown
  • Occurs naturally in the body to bind to collagen to give cartilage its strength (a lack of chondroitin sulfate softens the cartilage, causing joint erosion).
  • Inhibits degradative enzymes that can hasten cartilage breakdown.
  • Promising research prompted the American College of Rheumatology and the European League Against Rheumatism to recommend chondroitin in their published guidelines for osteoarthritis treatment.
Provides a safer, more effective solution to joint-related pain and inflammation
  • Contains Vitamin C, manganese, and bromelain to enhance the anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties of glucosamine and chondroitin.
  • Both glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate recommended by Dr. Jason Theodosakis in his best-selling book The Arthritis Cure.

Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate Plus contains:

Background:

Glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate are natural substances found in and around the cells of cartilage. Glucosamine is an amino sugar that the body produces and distributes in cartilage and other connective tissue, and chondroitin sulfate is a complex carbohydrate that helps cartilage retain water.

In the U.S., glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate are sold as dietary supplements. But in some 70 countries around the world, particularly European countries, glucosamine is approved and prescribed as a drug for people with mild to moderately severe osteoarthritis.

While several forms of glucosamine have become widely available, glucosamine sulfate is the form best absorbed by the body and the one most commonly used to relieve the pain, stiffness, and swelling of osteoarthritis, a degenerative disease in which cartilage has been worn down.

In an academic and clinician roundtable review of treatments for osteoarthritis of the hip, glucosamine sulfate was included—under the category of disease-modifying drugs—as one of the 10 key proposed treatments for osteoarthritis.3

Along with glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate has become a popular supplement for easing the pain and inflammation of osteoarthritis. In fact, some studies indicate that it is as effective as aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) at relieving pain without the side effects that come with using NSAIDs.4

In those with knee and hip osteoarthritis, chondroitin appears to improve joint function and reduce pain. But, to date, there’s no firm evidence that the same effect would occur in other joints.

The latest studies have focused on evaluating how effectively glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate work in combination. The National Institutes of Health recently completed the Glucosamine/chondroitin Arthritis Intervention Trial (GAIT). Although further research is recommended, the initial findings suggest that glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate provided statistically significant pain relief as compared to placebo.5

Jigsaw Health Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate Plus uses the most absorbable forms to effectively reduce pain and swelling associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other joint issues.
