Former ACT! and SalesLogix Founder and CEO Launches New Company and Campaign Against Chronic Conditions
Pat Sullivan Kicks-Off Crusade with June 21 Celebration of new book, WELLNESS PIECE BY PIECE
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., June 16, 2005 – One of Arizona’s most well known entrepreneurs has launched a new company and penned an insightful, comprehensive new book, all with one purpose: to offer hope to the 125 million Americans suffering with chronic illness.
Pat Sullivan will begin sharing his vision with the public on June 21 at an open-house and book signing at the headquarters of his new company, called Jigsaw Health (www.JigsawHealth.com).
In his book, WELLNESS PIECE BY PIECE, Sullivan details for the first time his 30-year struggle to discover the pieces to his own chronic health puzzle, all while he raised four children and built two of Arizona’s most successful technology companies: ACT! and SalesLogix.
With his new company, Sullivan will take the lessons and knowledge gained from his struggle and provide an opportunity for others to rediscover their health through natural therapies.
“I thought carefully before starting a new venture,” said Sullivan. “My family and I are extraordinarily passionate about this cause, and I believe we can really help the millions who are struggling with chronic conditions and looking for the path to wellness.”
Jigsaw Health will offer nutrient-dense foods, premium-quality supplements, diagnostic tests and educational materials to help sufferers piece together their own chronic health puzzle. Sullivan’s son, Patrick, will serve as president of the new company, which is located in Scottsdale.
On Tuesday, June 21, Jigsaw Health will host an open house and book signing party at company headquarters from 4 to 6 p.m., an event that will offer an insider’s look at natural health’s answers to chronic conditions through free copies of WELLNESS PIECE BY PIECE and free product samples.
Sullivan gained fame in the late 1980s and 1990s as the inventor of ACT!®, the leading brand of contact management software and as CEO of SalesLogix, where he again succeeded in helping companies improve their relationships with customers.
WELLNESS PIECE BY PIECE, however, describes a different kind of relationship: the one he had with his own body during his rise to the top. In a candid discussion of his 30-year struggle with recurrent health issues, the book chronicles Sullivan’s journey to understand the complex web of symptoms and causes behind his bout with candadiasis, mercury toxicity, chronic fatigue and irritable bowel syndromes.
Sullivan’s health struggle – fueled by dissatisfaction with traditional medicine’s approach to his illnesses – put him on the path to self-discovery. Through rigorous research, steadfast faith and the removal of dental amalgams, which many leading medical authorities consider a dangerous source of toxic mercury, he began to understand the complexity of his chronic health puzzle. He also began feeling healthy again.
“I wrote WELLNESS PIECE BY PIECE for the millions of people who know they should be feeling better than they do and are struggling to find solutions,” said Sullivan. “Oftentimes, these illnesses don’t just happen; they do have a cause. And more often than not, the causes are within our control.”
Through 16 chapters of compelling first-hand narrative, Sullivan guides readers through varied topics like Balancing Hormones, Fixing Your Gut, Clearing Infections, Finding a Good Doctor, Nourishing Your Body with Supplements and Proper Nutrition and the importance of Spirituality. But for Sullivan, there’s one topic that deserves special attention: mercury and heavy metal toxicity.
“Discovering the damaging effects of mercury in dental amalgams and vaccines has truly changed my life,” he said. “I firmly believe the mercury in my fillings has poisoned me significantly and played a destructive role in my body.”
Sullivan now joins the movement to ban the use of mercury in dentistry altogether. At the June 21 event, donations will be accepted on behalf of Consumers for Dental Choice, a non-profit promoting mercury-free dentistry and public awareness of the metal’s toxicity. An initial contribution of $2,500 will be made by Jigsaw Health.
On the slow road to detoxifying his body from mercury poisoning, Sullivan also crusades against the use of heavy metals in medicine. The issue underlies his general frustration with traditional medicine that he hopes will encourage WELLNESS readers to take charge of their health issues.
“Despite the many great doctors out there, our current medical system is a mess, and many doctors will tell you this,” declares Sullivan. “Through WELLNESS, I hope readers will feel empowered to take charge of their health, because at the end of the day, they are the ones ultimately responsible!”
In 2005, Pat founded Jigsaw Health, a company dedicated to helping those who suffer from chronic conditions, including those he suffered from and a long list of others including depression, Crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis. Launched online in April 2005, JigsawHealth.com offers nutrient-dense foods, premium-quality supplements, diagnostic tests and educational materials to help sufferers piece together their own chronic health puzzle.
Jigsaw Health is located at 14500 North Northsight Boulevard, Suite 112 in Scottsdale, Ariz. For event information, call 480.212.9000.
WELLNESS PIECE BY PIECE is available for sale at many online bookstores, including Amazon.com and BN.com. It is also for sale directly from JigsawHealth.com.
