Title: President & Co-Founder of Jigsaw Health, LLC
Age: 30 (Yes, I have quite the baby face.)
Humor: Dry to very dry.
Favorite time of day: Whenever I can get stuff done! Usually from 10pm to
2am.
Least favorite time of day: When I don’t feel like getting anything done.
Usually from 2pm and 4pm. (Siesta anyone?)
Most upsetting thing I’ve learned in the past two years: Science,
medicine, and health are all 99% political and capitalistic. It’s status quo and
“follow the money.” And nowhere does arrogance run more rampant than in the
halls of medicine. Sad, but true.
Most of my waking hours, I am the president and co-founder of Jigsaw Health. My
dad, Pat Sullivan,
is the CEO and co-founder. He’s the guy on the website, I’m the guy behind
the website. As president, I run the day to day operations and ensure that we
are executing on Pat’s strategic direction for Jigsaw Health.
I’m not officially a junior, but I add “Jr.” to my name in an attempt to ease
the confusion between Pat and myself. It rarely works. ;-)
I am very passionate and dedicated with what we are doing at Jigsaw Health. This
comes from living through my dad’s health odyssey, but as a supporting
character.
In his book, he writes about moving our family from Kentucky to Texas in 1983.
Driving down the highway in the big U-Haul truck was Dad and me. I was six years
old, going on my first big adventure. Somewhere in the middle of the country, I
saw my dad start to weep. This was a unique and startling event for me. I felt
so helpless. I remember that I reached into our little red cooler to grab him
some carrot sticks. It seemed to be my only ammunition to counter his tears.
Much later in my life, I understood that this episode came from utter anguish
and frustration about why he kept getting so sick. As a teenager, I remember
several nights at the dinner table listening to dad talk excitedly about some
new puzzle piece he had found. Over time, some of these pieces turned into
keepers; but many into duds.
In fall of 2005, Pat asked me to come help him start Jigsaw Direct. (Yes, I call
him Pat in my professional life and yes, the first name of the company was
Jigsaw Direct.) I jumped at the chance to help Pat engage in this new calling. I
felt that win or lose, it was an awesome chance to be mentored directly by him
after working indirectly with him for seven years at SalesLogix.
I semi-jokingly tell people that what makes Jigsaw Health products different is
that they were all designed for one person — Pat Sullivan. Why? Well, when you
design for one real person rather than millions of imaginary people, you always
hit your target. And at least we know that our products will work for the boss!
(Turns out, since our website launched in April 2005, thousands of other customers have been finding that our products work pretty darn
well for them, too.)
Aside from having what I humbly believe are exceptional products and a
phenomenal website, our real differentiator is superior customer service. I tell
every new customer service rep that when they answer the phone, I want them to
think, “What would I want Jigsaw to do if it were me calling?” The answer is the
same every time: make the customer feel delighted and make things right.
I actually do use each of these products on a daily basis. (Except sometimes on
weekends where I get out of my rhythm.) The good news is that I haven't taken a
sick day from work in over 3 years. Also, I want to
experience what my customers are experiencing:
-
Essential Daily Packets AM and PM
- 4 extra
Jigsaw Magnesium (6 total in the AM)
- 2
Liver Support
- 2 Probiotics
- 1 Cyto-Ess Immune Support
- Melatonin 3mg, at night when I can’t shut my brain down.
- 5-HTP, on days I feel sleepy (from not being able to shut my brain down).
- Whenever I'm feeling a sore throat (always my first sign of a potential bug
coming on) I reach for
Allimax Rescue Spray and/or
Sovereign Silver Spray. I
also up my
Antioxidant to 9 or more per day, increase Probiotics, and
JMX-2 (for
the allicin.)
- I use Systemic Enzymes if I'm ever really sore from riding trails or sports.
They work great! Candidly, I should probably take these more regularly than I
do, but they're expensive (even at my cost) and they smell bad.
- Glass of water,
Flax, and chocolate or vanilla
Whey Protein
in the morning.
- Glass of water and flax at night before I go to bed. (Thank you regularity!)
- An apple every single morning. Keeps the doc away. :)
- Jigsaw Bars Chocolate Brownie (and sometimes Coconut-Almond). Yum for breakfast
or afternoon snack.
- Snack on
pistachios, cashews, almonds, and pecans (all the time at my desk)
- When short for time on lunch, love the
Wild King Salmon and
Minimal-mercury
Tuna.
- Spry Spearmint gum
- Sparx Citrus flavor
- Xlear toothpaste
Life
I’m very happily married to my beautiful, talented and wonderful wife Lindsay.
No kids yet, but we have a black lab named Buddy.
Nap time at the Sullivan house.

Blogging
I blog fairly regularly with my dad at
Pat Sullivan Blog. Mostly I cover the
Autism and mercury beat. I do enjoy blogging and the ensuing discussions. But
when things get hectic at Jigsaw Health, blogging usually takes a back seat.
I also did a Web Forum for the National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week, called What Everybody Ought To Know About Magnesium which you can read here.
