Dr. Carol Dean, author of The Magnesium Miracle, notes that many magnesium experts believe that the Recommended Daily Intake (RDI) of magnesium should be increased due to the vital role it plays in the body and the poor absorption commonly seen with dietary magnesium. It should also be noted that the RDI is merely set at the minimum level to stave off deficiency symptoms, but many people are already deficient. Despite this, the current RDI's are below, although it has been conceded that some people may benefit from higher quantities of magnesium intake.
